Evening All
We wore visiting my aunt this afternoon, after saying hello, I headed straight for the room where she keeps her tarantulas.
She has 6 plus the 2 new Tarantulas Which Her Mother in Law bought, 1X Acanthoscurria geniculata (white knee) and 1X Cyclosternum fasciatum (tiger rump)
Still very small under 1cm.
So She comes through to show me her 2 newest additions to every growing collection, so just talking, she says the lady where they got the spiders said that she must be careful as the C fasciatum bite is really nasty and can cause allot of damage to the skin.
My response was The Tiger Rump!!!???
I have 2 of them and the only thing I get on a regularly bases in uitracting hairs and that as far as it goes apart from the itch :S
I did some Goggling and only found this topic
C fasciatum bite
did not find any Bite reports on these spider.
As far as I'm concerned they are not an aggressive tarantula, they are a bit skittish and defensive in regards to flicking of uitracting hairs.
I now it all depends on the spider doing the ejecting/ dry bite
But would the venoum of the C fasciatum be that bad, for such a small spider??
Or does the lady know what she is talking about or is she just giving the wrong information about this Tarantula.
