An interesting little paper which might help in understanding the habitat is : COCROFT, R. B. & HAMBLER, K., 1989, Observations on a commensal relationship of the microhylid frog Chiasmocleis ventrimaculata and the burrowing theraphosid spider Xenesthis immanis in Southeastern Peru. Biotropica, 21(1): 2-8.

It can be downloaded at
digitool.library.mcgill.ca/webclient/Str...dvs=1326134324706~59 or www.biosci.missouri.edu/cocroft/Publicat...oft%20Biotropica.pdf

If not helpful for habitat, it shows how Xenesthis immanis can differentiate prey from lodger just by chemicals as it pounces - they dont bite friends...

Just had a look at the site now and looks good.
Except for a mistake that I picked up already.

He names this spider as A.junodi, but the male clearly has hooks, so must be another Augacephalus species as A.junodi is "hook-less"

And the C.brachycephalus looks like a hybrid C.brachycephalus x C.darlingi.
