This is a progressive report which will be updated as things happen:

Psalmopoeus irminia - Venezuelan Suntiger

Male – HeteroScuderia
Female – Sun7iger
Mated – 21 April 2012 First attempt was successful, but did two more just in case. Male survived.
Egg sac - 18 June 2012
Egg sac was produced at 26.6˚C with RH92%.

Female was kept at room temps of around 22˚C and RH80% and then warmed to about 26.5˚C for about 2 weeks. Added water to raise relative humidity to above 90%, and two days later... egg case.

Sad news guys n gals... I pulled the sack on day 30 and only two eggs with legs were to be seen, the rest of the eggs are unfertilized and are now shriveling up and going dark :(

One of the two survivors seems to have died, but there is still one little soldier left and has molted to first instar, so I hold thumbs.

I shall name him Han Solo if he makes it. Will post pics when I get a chance.

So as you all know the first sac from this mating attempt was a complete dud except for 2 slings which later died anyway.

Luckily, this P.irminia female decided to double clutch and dropped her second sac on the 11/10/2012.

Left the sac with the mom for the full term and it opened today (30/11/2012). When I got home today the mom was still just sitting with the sac, and 30 minutes later I noticed her moving about. On closer inspection, the sac was open and slings were pouring out.

At least 50 very healthy looking slings with the little bit I can see, but I reckon up to 80 or more in there.

Whoop whoop!
