hey everyone

My little B Vagans has been acting very strange lately...seems as if his front legs have gone lame or are lacking power...they bend in weird way when he/she walks and im just a bit worried

Any ideas of what this could be? or what is causing it?

@Hartley. I have 2 a.avic's sp? that molted as slings with one missing leg and a wobbly leg, the other one had 2 wobbly legs. Well needless to say they molted a few days ago and it is looking better. The first T, has generated a small leg where there was no leg, the other one has now a grand set of legs :). My personal advice would be to just wait and see what happens after the next molt. I hope this gives you some good news.

If you see it struggles to eat, get your tongs out and try and place food right in front of your tarantula, also make sure the cricket or roach is a bit knocked out so that your T has no need to go running after it. If it is eating well this way then just stick to the procedure until he/she molts again.

Keep me posted on the progress of your T.

PS: It it is still under 2cm legspan, you could in my experience keep the substrate nice and moist, providing you have a heat source nearby, to up your slings metabolism. I have no idea what your setup looks like but this is just some advice that works for me. I have a heated room with enough humidity, but I am resorting to a huge cabinet that is still in the making, to place all my T's in with a thermostat and humidity control. Was shocked to see my electricity bill :)

Just to add in my thoughts, any chance that it could be dehydrated? try spraying the sides of the enclosure so you create water droplets and see if the sling drinks from those, and if it is quite big (maybe bigger than 4cm put a very shallow water dish.
