Hey just wanted to ask a strange question I guess, does anyone have sound systems/ tvs etc near or in their T room. Why I ask is my boyfriend wants me to move my pc etc out of my room into whats meant to be the office. I know sound sytems can kill fish, are T's similar in that regard, obviously the noise would probably stress them out a little. I obviously dont intend to turn their room into the local disco but dont want to upset them too much.

I wouldn't exactly say that it's harmful to your T's from my own personal experience but I believe that it can alter you T's behavior if it's constantly subjected to loud noises like music. More docile T's might become more skittish than they should be for example. I say this because T's use vibration to find out about there environment.

I am sure it cannot be nice for any creature to have music blasted at it all the time. Animals tend to like nice quite environments.
That said I'm sure the odd song wont effect them too much.

I watch a lot of T videos on YouTube. Lots of keepers worldwide play heavy meatal music in the backgrounds of their videos while feeding or handling their T's. I am sure this does have some effect on the T's as they do use vibrations to sense thier environments as Spoq pointed out.

Whether there are any long-term effects or not is entirely up for debate, I don't believe this has been officially studied and referrenced anywhere.

I keep my T's/Reptiles in a separate room with no music or loud noise because I feel that they should be kept in an environment that is pleasant for them, not one which is suited to us.

But this could just be another one of those topics where it boils down to personal preferences.

indeed it will go down to personal preference, but we need to take the Ts preference into consideration too!!
Remember they are reliant on us for everything as we are the ones who want to keep them, and there is no way they can tell us!!! We do know vibrations effect them so I'm sure load music will also have an effect so like splinta said I think a quiet room will be much better!

That is a broad generalization. Ever sat next to a flock of Starling or breeding Herons or spent time in a Seal colony?

If Tarantulas can detect pray through changing air presure caused by a moving pray item, how can it not be affected by soundwaves. It will be affected, and I dare to say stressed by this somewhat.
