A friend of mine dropped his B. vagans (Mexican Red Rump) by me after having a bad molt. I would love to help the little one but I need some advice from the experts.

The T is about the size of a two rand coin and with the molt, all the legs got stuck in the the old skin. The poor thing has these stiff legs and cannot move about. Luckily it seems as if the mout parts and fangs molted so at least it can drink water if dripped on the fangs. Last night when I received the T, I gave it a small drop of water and it seemed to drink it. I also set up an I.C.U. cage for the poor baby to get the humidity up in the cage.

What I need to know now is what next? I am scared to try and remove the old skin since the spider is so small. The T has been like this for four days. Can anyone help or advise on what to do?

Respect and be respected.

When you say the legs got stuck, Is it the entire leg, first segment, second third?

Only about half of the first segment of each leg are out of the old skin. Most of the legs are still inside the old skin.

Have you at-least been able to separate the legs from the carapace?
Also adding a pic would help a lot so that we can see what is going on. Will help with a fast answer in stead of a lot of questions.

I actually wanted to upload a pic and will upload a pic as soon as I can but it will possibly only be tomorrow or this evening.
The legs are seperated from the carapace. It's basically to just to assist him to get his legs out of the exuviam.

I think I will wait for the pic before giving any advice. Its better to see what is going on instead of trying to form a mental picture and getting it completely wrong.
