Hey guys.

I've been playing around with some glass over the past week, and today on my day off, I built this.

Hey Cascade.

I borrowed the clamps from my dad, he bought them at a hardware place. I ordered myself 4 new ones. They are not expensive. You just ask for corner clamps. If you don't get them, send me a PM then maybe I can get some for you.

Yes, I'm using a Tile cutter. It cost me about R140 and I have already built about 30 other enclosures over the past few months. So if the wheel wears out, throw it away and buy a new one.

The only problem I have encountered, is that the wheel has a bit of play so you get 1mm difference in some pieces you cut. But I have fastened the wheel so that it doesn't move around. Then it's only getting used to how to cut, and voila! And you're limited to cut 40cm long.

You see, I'm a dwarf and my limbs are a bit short and not so strong as normal guys, thus I can't work with a normal glass cutter. So I saw a Tile cutter and thought...Why not, let's try it. And it worked.

:-)

Nice I'll have the "properly 100 grope"... *jokes*

I looked at doing this for my Perspex tank after seeing the sweet and biltong bins on some of the Perspex websites.

Decided not to go that route as there is too much valuable space lost and the lid is closer to the floor or back depending on how the tank stands. Thus especially for arboreal T's they will web against the lid as it makes a lekker wedge for webbing.

I'm here to offer advice on what I know...
I'm here to seek advice on what I don't know...
I'm not here to get into forum politics so please don't condemn or apologise to me...
Please leave me alone...
Why are you here!

Thanks, I will contact my local hardware and see if they can get them for me. I even made myself something to hold the glass, but it only worked for a sort period then I went back to tape.
If I don't come right I will give you a shout. ;)

I got 4 Tile cutters, I got a baby one and then I have a long one that goes to 500mm, as I did and need to do some more tiling soon.
If you think about it the tile cutter is larger, steady and straight glass cutter, it also has a diamond cutting tip, so why not :cheer:
I'm impressed, that is a very smart way to cut glass, and thanks for sharing the new method!!!

Have you broken some of the glass when you first started cutting the glass?
Do you use the legs given to push down on the glass or do you "break"/separate the glass some where else.
How smooth does the tile cutter cut the glass?
What MM of glass wore you cutting?
