I am new to the tarantulas and I am really worried I'm doing something wrong. I keep my brazilian black and white in a fish tank, have a heating pad, humidity gauge, a lot of air hole drilled in the cover but the tank is always fogged up and the humidity only reaches 40%. is this normal????

You don't have to use heating pads during summer, this would be the reason why your cage is fogged up.

All you need to supply at this point, is substrate, a water bowl or mist the side of the tank every 3 days and food and your spider will be happy.

Its about the size of my palm. Have a nice and big, but not deep water bowl and feeds her crickets.
How important is humidity? I'm staring to wonder if the gauge is working correctly cause with al that fog It only reaches 40%

I have never bothered with measuring humidity. And so far even my avics are surviving.
As long as there is a waterbowl I am sure your T will be fine. The problem with too much moisture is it creates a haven for those lovely mites we all love so much.
