 Oh my soul!

That is the worst feeling! I once had a fat female roach running up my arm... Now I am no dancer but I invented some pretty cool dance moves as I was trying to get it off.

Luckily no one observed this episode. Thank goodness for that. :silly:

I keep my B. dubia on substrate and bark, so it takes about 2 days to get them all sorted and moved over.
I use egg trays and bark for the ones that are left behind, roaches tend to like climbing onto the egg trays and bark, so this makes it easier to move them around.

This is the old substrate that gets put into a plastic drum and gets a couple of egg trays added and I check it every other day for any roaches that I have missed.

With regards to the B. lateralis, I have 2 spear containers that are ready for roach clean out, I move the roaches with there egg trays, or if the egg trays are in a bad way I just shack the roaches off into a clean container and they get new egg trays.
Any roaches that are left behind get given egg trays in the old container, this takes some time but eventually get most if not all the roaches out.

So the main key is to have a couple of empty containers standing by for when you start the clean out.
Even if you throw the dirt into another container with a couple of roaches it not a problem, they will grow and be healthy in there as well.

Once upon a time I use to pick all the eggs out of the mess at the bottom, that took for every and a day to do, so the new style was learnt from a Friend who practices the same method of cleaning he's roaches out.
