I fed some curly hair slings with those worms just to see if anything happens to them. I have been feeding them the worms for the past 4 months and they are still doing well. It seems like they love them more that they love the roaches. :eyepoke:

The beetles you have is Alphitobius diaperinus or "lesser mealworms"

They are nice to have in b. dubia colonies as they clean up dead animals and stuff like that, but if the roaches you call turkistans are Blatta lateralis i would remove them right away or rehouse the hole roach colony. B. lateralis lay their oothecae instead of bearing them the entire time like dubia do. The lesser mealworms will eat the oothecae and dramatically decrease your colony growth.

I moved all the adults out of the tub into another one, but I decided to see if any more would hatch out of what was left at the bottom.

I'm happy to say that I took about 30 babies out of the other tub tonight.

Strangly, these are the first babies that I have seen. Roaches don't eat their young.. why have I never seen babies before? Ive had this colony for about a month now and they've been laying eggs the whole time.

If you've only had them a month, theres your answer They take around 1 month or maybe up to 2 months before they hatch, so they probably just started hatching. I would remove all the ooths too if I were you (if the worms havent ate them)

I was going to remove them, but I was afraid that there might be a a worm inside one of them or something. I took as many of the worms out as I could.
