Hey guys

Silkworm season is due to start soon, early this year,has already started in Nelspruit and I've had a few confused hatchees, depending on the temeperatures in your area, and with the warm weather in general we've had on and off in Joburg/PTA your eggs may be thinking about hatching. If the mulberry trees havent yet got the memo it may be best to put your eggs in a ziplock bag in the fridge until you have leaves to feed them.

Saw 2 came out over the weekend.

The mulberry tree close by has some small leaves. So I'll do the put in fridge plan

Ive noticed the mulberrys are fully in bud in PTA, just remember the ziplock bag, its super important else the eggs can dessicate and die in the fridge. I wouldnt worry about putting them in the fridge for more than a couple of weeks if your trees are budding, as soon as the new leaves are about the size of a 50c coin they can feed babies!

My silkworms have started coming out!
Started on Friday, I also find sticking leaves on the eggs make the worms come out faster, not sure if that is my mid playing tricks on me!

Nice bud! Your mind is not playing tricks, if the eggs are in thier hatch cycle, the "smell" of fresh mulberry leaves will make them pop out faster!
