Some time ago I bought a sling from Matt. He sold a few at the time, and I can remember reading on the old forum that some other guys from the forum also bought some. It was supposed to be from the Genus "Euathlus", but I did not really see anything on this.

The thing about this T was that it is an extremely slow grower. I have 2 of them, and they are only about 4cm big. The surprising thing was that one of the has hooked out and spun a sperm web. I would not have noticed the hooks had I not seen the sperm web.

Can anyone help me with a proper identification? Is there any desire to breed these? As the other one that I have is a bit bigger, I would assume that I now have a mature male and female.

I am horrible at identifying anything other than a vintage blend, but Euathlus truculentus springs to mind. The males are not huge. If you have a pair (of these spiders) it would be good to see if the females spermatichae have sclerotised... perhaps you could introduce them to each other.

Thanks for that. I don't think it looks much like the Euathlus truculentus though.

You don't know Matt? He was big into the T business till about 2009. He was always at all of the shows, and he used to sell some good T's. He then got married, and I haven't heard from him since.

Hey Robert. Looks to me like a Euathlus sp "chile flame". They are a dwarf specie. My mature female is about 6cm. Will post a pic of her
