I got this beauty along with a few t's I bought a while ago from this one guy(on junkmail), I wasn't sure what she was, as I was told its a “mexican black velvet” ..so ja.. that's all info I got..the T looked unfamiliar and interesting, my thoughts where that it might be a local, cuz it looked like a baboon..maybe some harpactira species? She's rather calm and chilled though..but I'm still not too sure, so i thought I'll post this and get more opinions. Peace. Z

The Best person who could have helped you with this identification...is Ceratogyrus,if it really is a local baboon species.But he's been banned from the website.So our guess is as good as your's unfortunately.

This is not a Brachypelma schroederi or sometimes called mexican black velvet (Brachypelma vagans is also sometimes called this).
It does look like a Harpactira sp. especially this type of webbing in captivity. We do have this dark species locally round Cape Town called Harpactira sp. "Camps Bay' or "Tokai" , for now.
