Might be a H.gigas MM or some other Hysterocrates species.

I think you're right Cerat. I have been looking on the net for any species that occur in the Congo, (not well documented btw, most names do not produce images).
There is this one site of Wkipedia, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Theraphosidae_species , which is reasonably helpful if you copy and paste names from there into google. The more I look the more I am leaning towards Hysterocrates sp, probably reasonably recently moulted male too taking into account the dark coloration still present.
