Looks like a mature male Phlogius/Selenocosmia species. Possibly crassipes.

So this is basically the "Barking spider"? (Sorry for the common name, but I didn't know the scientific name and trying to work it back to something I know :huh: :swaet: with the help of Google :lol: )

I can't say i've ever heard mine bark. If you google Phlogius crassipes you should get a lot of info although at the moment they are still Selenocosmia crassipes.

Haha, yep, just saw the [Also known as the "Queensland whistling tarantula" or "barking spider"] and replied :blush:

:angel: In my defence I'm working and posting here, so my attention is not 100% focused on my work :tongue: :angel:

"The current generic name Selenocosmia has been wrongly applied to the Australian species and will be revised, the generic name Phlogius being reinstated" - :side: How does something like this happen? :S
