One of these are supposed to be H.maculata and the other one S.calceatum.

Honestly both look the the same to me.

Anyone have any thoughts?

Flip them over (hehe!)

S calceatum should be black and H maculata not.

Top one - Heteroscodra maculata
Bottom One - Stromatopelma calceatum

In my opinion.

I have 2 Heteroscodra maculata and they look like the top one.

Top - H. mac
Bottom S. calceatum.

I have a sneaky suspicion that the calceatum is male.

I would agree with the top one being H. maculata and male as well ;)

I have never seen a calceatum male before so your guess is as good as mine.

But from what I have heard and seen is that a MM calceatum are bigger than MM maculata.

Are both males shown in the pictures MM?
