My question, is the Metallica green sling a different colour to a avic avic sling? Can you positively identify the Metallica?

@Harris... a.metallica's look different than the normal a.avic's but I personally could only tell the difference form 3cm where my a.metallica's started getting very (fuzzy) metallic hairs...

I've got 3 a. sp. guyiana green slings that look exactly like the one in the photo.
They do exist and there are available in South Africa.

Thanx Henk. My Avic Sp. Green is coming along nicely and seems very content. When we purchased her we were worried about temp adjustment because it was a really controlled temp we the T's were being kept. After some changes we have managed to get our T's all cozy and warm and even the crickets seem happier, not knowing they are dinner. Avic has spun herself an awesome web at the top of the bottle. We decided not to rehouse her till maybe another two molts. Bit superstitious after our Versicolor died. Although I did later hear a lot died from that batch. Bad genes perhaps.

My opinion,

There's way to many hybrids out there, that's going for exorbitant prices. Because it's now a new or rare species or spec.
With the Avic's it's so easy to do

Agreed, but it doesn't mean these are hybrids just because very few people have them...
It's a risk you're taking if you buy these rare and exspensive t's and no one else has them as they could... or could not be the real deal...
So you need to make sure you know the oke and you have all the right info to get hold of him/her when it turns out not to be what you paid for...
Will wait for my a. sp. guyana's to grow a bit bigger to see if it was worth the buy...
Sure they were, as we all know there are not just a hand full of guys importing but a whole bunch!
