Hi everybody. I just wanted to introduce myself to the forum. My name is Sheldon and I'm from Joburg. Ive been lurking on the forum for quite a while, doing my research. Whilst I'm not unfamiliar with keeping invertebrates, it has been about 20 years since I last had any. At the time, I had a modest collection of true spiders.
Ive just recently taken delivery of a B smithi, about 2cm ( thanks Milty) and also have a B albopilosum, about 8 cm. The smithi I've had for a week, during this time its eaten 1 pinhead and, as of this morning, has buried itself in the substrate. I took a quick peek and it seems ok. I'll probably check it again next week if it hasnt surfaced. The albo I got yesterday, seems happy. It ate a full size cricket last night.
Ive got the Tarantula Keepers Guide arriving today, so plenty of reading to do:p
Both t's are on peat substrate, with an appropriate size piece of bark as shelter. The albo has a water dish and the smithi is getting water via droplets on the glass.
