Thanks Cascade but there is nothing in this thread, or the one you linked to on the American forum that reference any articles with clear differences between the 2 based on their descriptions. Especially the mature males.

Well colouration is a terrible indicator for seperating species, and as far as I can tell, the only difference between the 2 is that Acanthoscurria geniculata males have an extra keel on the embolus.
So what I was hoping for was that the expert forum member who told Cenotaph that it was a different species, would have some information that I have been missing.

Thats an intresting aproach to telling them apart!
add that with the white bands and you should get a clear cut answer to that.

I did have other links to the diffrence between males of the two species and females but there is not much more info regarding these species is just whats on the table at the mommet.
