Hi there all, I am sure I am not the only one who has noticed this over the years but I am curious?
Does it connect to that sort of indent that Ts have on there carapaces? What is it? and whhhhhhy :blink:

What you're looking at is the sucking stomach of the tarantula. As it is technically lined with "skin", it is part of the exuvium, just like the lining of the uterus externus and the spermatheca.

The indent at the carapace is the area where the large muscle groups are attached.
