Hi fellow keepers

Who all has Cyclosternum schmardae (Yellow banded birdeater) in their collection?

It would be awesome if people can post pictures of their individuals (not internet pictures), any informative articles/posts, and experiences on the species.

The aim is to build up info and availability on this smaller species of birdeater.
We can use this post for future keeping and breeding purposes if people add to this.

I hope to hear from you guys....

Weird how they seem to be garnering a lot of attention now when they can't be found but when they were for sale nobody gave a hoot. Anyway, I'll try and get a decent picture sometime. Mine is about 6cm and about a year and half old. Very skittish and a kind of olive brown at the moment

Have to agree on that, no one seemed interested in them last time I saw one... If I remember correctly it was at the 20th annual SOSexpo at emperors palace... I helped out a friend with his stall and we had one that was around 6cm if I remember correctly and not a single person even looked at it... More info on them is needed I agree and even better if someone could breed them!

Have one , purchased it about 2 years ago if I can recall . Was very small as a sling and is only about 6-7cm now (possible female)

Recently gave it some deep substrate and it burrowed can be aggressive and skittish if provoked too much .

Haven't seen any for sale in a while ,but definitely an awesome T , will upload pics soon ..
