Hi all, just ordered two S.hoffmanni ( Central American horned birdeater ) slings. Was very surprised to find out that there are horned tarantulas outside Africa's baboon species.

Very little information is available about them. I believe they require the same arid habitat environment as our own Baboon spiders, not needing a very humid atmosphere and not wanting heat above 26 degrees. They are apparently skittish and would spend most of the time in their burrows.

Would like to know if you guys can give more information about them. What size do they grow to?

Where did you order them from? I would love to order a few myself.

Just arrived, at 1.5 cm not much to look at, but I am very excited to have "horned" T's that are legal to keep.
