Hallo everyone.

My P. Irminia molted to 10cm on the 5th of September and to my surprise again on the 4th of December to 12cm. I did not think she would molt again so quickly.

I was under the impression that tarantulas of that size (referring to almost fully grown, rather than the literal size) had a molting cycle of minimum six months...<Lock the doors!...He's coming!>, so I really did not expect her to molt so soon.

This is probably normal, but I would like to hear your opinions on this.

Have you had this spider sexed?

At times your spider will molt on a monthly bases, until it get to a curtain size and then it will slow down in molting, your spider is still small and no where near the "mature" size.

Psalmopoeus species tend to have a fast growth rate, males start to mature from 12cm up and they can mature within 12 to 18 months.

It is the slower growing species which molt cycle is longer.
