Ok I need some help with this guy.

I've attached a pic if anyone can have a go at vent sexing. He hasn't molted yet since i've had him. So far those who have seen him and/or pics seem to think he's a mature male.
He has also done quite a lot of webbing on the substrate outside of his hide (which he hardly even uses) and also some webbing in the top corners of the tank.

An indication of sex would be a bonus but my concern is that this guy is SUPER AGGRESSIVE and doesn't seem to be afraid of anything.
A couple of days ago when I was feeding I tried to lift the lid of his tank and as soon as i touched it he literally jumped up in my direction, fangs up against the glass. I quickly closed the tank and left him be
Two days later, feeding time, no problems except that when I opened the tank he again "charged" in my direction but no jumps this time.
Then last night I was wanting to remove some dirt from his tank and he literally jumped up and bit my tongs before I could even get close to the substrate. In an attempt to move him away towards one side of the tank he snapped at my brush twice without interest in going anywhere. I've now left him again.

This guy scares me. :S Are there perhaps better times to work in and around his tank? I thought perhaps a while after feeding and preferably during the daylight hours when they are supposedly less active?

Perhaps there is something wrong with the T, or his surroundings he's not happy with?

Any suggestions please.

I don't think there is an explanation for a Ts behavior.
There's also no way to sex it accurately from a ventral pic.

How long have you had it for?

I've only had him for about 2 weeks.

I get that this T probably is just a natural @ssh0l3 but if he keeps behaving like this I know he's gonna tag me sooner or later and probably more than once too.

I'm just trying to find as many ways as possible to avoid this.

I should add that some 8 months ago there was a thread about a T getting sprayed with surgical spirits.... it was this guy.

That probably left a bad taste in his mouth :P That species is normally pretty aggressive, what you can do is just put a bowl over him while you working around the tank. It should also calm him down to be in a small dark place. Ts are usually calmer during the cold morning a find, so try it then as well...

Ok, so how long has the spider been in the tank?
Does the spider have a hide?

I think the spider is not settling in and he is defending himself every time you open the lid.
Or he is so settled in he is defending he's stomping grounds.
Or you just have an agro spider! the fums from the surgical spirits have made the spider think he is a dog!

Got him about 2 weeks ago, took him out of the tank without too much hassle (snapped at the brush twice), cleaned the tank, returned him to the tank with no hassle at all.
He has a hide (nice big piece of bark that he can sit on or under) but I've only seen him in it once or twice. He fits in it nicely and he hasn't done any excavations.

I'm thinking he's just a very angry individual. If he does however start barking or playing fetch you will hear from me again, probably selling tickets to the show
