I received my roach colony yesterday and these worms were with them. The guy I got them from said that they are called mini meal worms, and the beetles came with when he imported the roaches.
Now I have googled but cant find them under mini mealworms. Does anyone else know what they are?
They also have 6 legs in the front like the normal mealworm but they are very active and walk around alot.
They look like caterpillars but are definetly Beetle Larvae of some sort. In my opinion they should be destroyed as they might be harmful pests and since they came with the roaches when imported they could be a whole new species to come into SA so should either be put in a separate container or destroyed.

That is utter crap. Mini-mealworms are a genetically modified variation of the standard mealworm... they are currently only for sale in the US and Europe as far as I know. This is a beetle or possibly moth larva... get rid of as many as you can.
The early bird gets the worm... but the early worm gets eaten by a bird.
