my better half is extremly afraid of any thing that has more legs than her!

how ever, with my excelent persuasion skills she easily converted, she actually bought my 1st T, for xmas nogal!

it is nou 1yr and 3 months later, and loves my T's every 2nd day i get a mail from her saying "get me one of these and this one and that one is pretty"

she doesnt look after them at all, and get bored when i feed them,

the funny thing is she is k@k scared of the crickets! lol

and gues where i keep my T's?

next to my bed HAHAHAHAHA as it is the warmest and quitest place in my house

@snarf, hahahahaha my lady said that to me too. i said i WONT choose, i cant.. both make me happy.

@spud, haha. it seems we in the same boat, well besides my lady buying me tarantulas and all, but my room and cupboards are over run with cages and plastic enclosures lying all over the place..

cant wait to get a dedicated T room. one day is one day !!!

My best half got me into Ts..any excuse she could get, she baught me a T....the best excuse..."it rained today so i got you a gift" lolol...she doesnt mind them 1 bit..she spends more time with her Ts then she does with me sometimes. I dont mind.They are her babies

Let' see I bought my first tarantulas for my partner
as a birthday gift!
And have bought her 5 tarantulas so far for birthday gifts valintines day and cause I can. :laugh:

I would say almost in the same boat more like swimming in the water allready.

She not really intrested in my collection my designs my bugs or the hobby really and what I'm busy doing! I'm usally the one that tells her about curtain spiders that are for sale and things like that.
She will look once at my new things and that it!

She fights with me and says thats all I talk about and I'm busy with is my dam hobby! :blush: :laugh:

But atleast my daughter is on my side she always wants to hold the spiders, she loved to hold the Mature Male A geniculata and she loves her frogs I had to keep two frogs for my daughter as they wore her pets And she also loves going herping and lifting rocks.

Here is my daughter lifting a rock! not the very best shoes to be wearing her mother forgot to put proper shoes in but she now whatt to do when she sees a snake!!

But none the less dare I touch my partners collection or feed them or even mist them with water oh boy do I get into slit.

I am proud to say that my hobby saved the lives of countless spiders around our house. When I got my first T a few years ago my mother freaked out. When she got to know them she started to like their different personalities.
She also noted how long it took for them to reach maturity. Because of this, she doesn’t kill any spider in or around the house.
After I got my 4th T, my father helped me build a big stand for their enclosures. It took a lot of time, but it’s something I will keep forever. It can hold at least 10 T’s in very big enclosures, so this is an excuse to get a few more…

My better half was also nervous at first, but he loves my babies. He even helped me move my H. lividum to a new enclosure. (This almost ended very very badly). He even wants to get me another T for my birthday.

So I have nothing to complain about!

Myself im in the Air Force (facilitator) so i keep all of them in my classroom. educating the learners in computer systems and T's. My wife don't give 2 ticks. Ha ha.....she is supportive and dont mind. The BOSS is starting to moan but that is life.
