hi all,we may me moving within the next couple off months ..either to cape town or Durban,hopefully Durban other wise i have to sell my T's..
? question moving from Johannesburg to Durban how do you keep your T's alive and well for the trip??

Plastic containers is the safest way to move tarantulas if you have allot of them.
If you going to move them in there tanks remove all decor and items that can move around and end up hurting your tarantula! Also make sure the lids can't open will you drive!
You can move the slings in the deli cups with there substrate just don't drop them or they will be covered in substrate.
You can use a 2liter ice cream container to pack them in, just make holes in the side and in the lid then you can stack them to save space! you can fit 6 tall deli cups or 12 shorter deli cups.

If you can get a Polystirene cooler box, this will keep your spiders cool and if you get a big enough one and have the right sized containers you can fit a fair amount tarantulas in it.

Avoide direct sunlight on them, try pack them behind the drivers seat(through a towel over them or some thing just to stop the sun) or in the boot.
Also avoide wind blowing on them.



You can also add substrate to your larger tarantulas in the plastic containers, move them over a night or two before you leave. this will help them make webbing and it will prevent you from rushing hours before you leave!

Regarding your glass tanks, news papper and bedding or packing foam is your best friend if you can get them into cardboard boxes with news papper or moven foam you want need to worry about broken glass when you get to your destanation.
