HI all


I now there is a good couple of Gamers and computer smart guys on here

MY brother bought him self a inno3D GeForce GTS 250 1GB GDDR3 Graphics card ,

he put it into hes computer but it does not wont to work now ..

Does he need a Direct power source for the card to run ??
Or is he missing some thing in the process ..??

Yes

you need to plug in the PCIe power cable as well.
Some cards even needs two, but I don't think the GTS 250 is one of them.

Just a word of caution. If you have a stock or cheapy power supply, the 12V rail probably won't be able to deliver the required Amps.

You need to get one that does 25A on the 12V rail for the display card.

I went through 3 power supplies in 18 months, and I didn't play games on my 7900GT, which means I didn't even push the card / power supply.

JA my brother said hes power supply is not good/big enough ..

He also ask What type of cord must he buy to plug into hes card,? cause they did not supply him with one ,or will he get from a computer shop ??

The more powerful power supplies usually come with one of these cable as standard. But you can buy them as well.
They convert the normal molex connector to a PCIe connect.
You can just ask for a PCI express power cable and they will know what to give you.

ja I was looking forward to playinh NFS shift before he ducks off to collage ??? BUT he is going to take hes computer to the Pc shop in town and get them to sort it out for him ..
