Ouch.. what PSU's were you using? I bought a GTX 470 about 2 months ago and didn't even think to check the PSU (Which I have quickly done now though )

I went through 2 Thermaltake Power Supplies.
430 and 450W respectively.
My 7900GT is rated at around 22A, about 265W, at 100% utilization. So the Wattage wasn't the problem.
I popped an Antec 380W as well.

I now have a 550W Cougar. It is a modular power supply with 25A on the 12V Rail.
Should be suitable for most high end cards, albeit in single card form.
No SLI or Xfire for me, although the box and everything says it's fine for it. Problem is I can't put 2 25A cards on it.

Got to be the nicest looking PSU I've seen to date. The cable braiding colours look like my snake (Lampropeltis triangulum campbelli)

I must say there is so much cool looking add ons and toys to make you computer look and run fast ,, I been looking at a hole lot of sites with cool things on ..

just an update My brother got a call from the computer tech and he says the card is faulty

and he need a cord to plug into the card from the power supply Direct current .. :dry:

lol ... sooo how exactly does he know the card is faulty... what fault was it?
