The "unemployed" are not on this forum. I am willing to bet EVERY member on this forum have passed at least grade six. No excuse.

I doubt people on this forum are "willfully ignorant".
Cell phone type communication through text messages has become an official language, which does NOTHING for developing proper language skills.

It sadly has become the norm for people NOT to take pride in what they do anymore. This phenomenon manifests itself throughout modern cultures. The quicker a task is finalized, the better, irrespective of the quality of such task. What we see on our forum (and others) is rooted herein, a total disregard for quality, with its foundations in low self esteem , causing an "I don't give a shit" attitude.

That is the reality and the bottom line.

I agree. This is exactly what I complained about a while back when I posted a thread The Animal's rant...

If you are able to use a computer, one would assume you can read, if you can read, one would assume you would have had some form of schooling, if you had some form of schooling you would assume you can spell.

This is a forum for professional enthusiasts. We aim to expand and grow the hobby in a professional manner, sure we are not scientists, but at least get it up to a standard where one would acknowledge that we know what we talk about.

I will go as far as to say if people want to use mxitisms or sms language - GO USE IT ON MXIT, or SMS, NOT here!
