Hi all

This little scorpion has been found in three of our bathrooms and most of the times they are found in the bath. This morning I went looking for more fossilized wood - stone, aka wood that has been fossilized, for my enclosure creation. The last time I found a snake, and this morning I found a scorpion once again, they have also been found in our heap of bricks.

I have on two occasions try and keep them, but it would seem they die of stress very quickly.

Question is are they poisonous? I know the first rule is "the smaller the pincers the more venomous the sting.

If there is anyone out there who know theses species could you please let me know what they are called and should our family worry about being stung by them in our house?

It looks like a Uroplectes, probably U.triangulufer.
The sting is not life threatening, but trust me, it burns like hell for a few hours and you know all about it.
No antivenom avaiable for it (Or needed)

Would medicine like celestamine work "for people who are allergic to bee stings, who might have a bad reaction to the sting"

PS: why does this scorpion die so easy of stress?

For the medical side, I unfortunately have no idea.
I have kept these before with no problem, so not so sure about the stress thing.
Just kept them in standard containers. Kept mine regularly misted though (Only "special" thing I can remember doing?)

Try and keep them on Dryish substrate. I know a few guys who keep them on river sand with no problems. They don't like to much humidity. Just be careful of the stinger. It hurts like hell.

Nah I am a Tarantula and roach fan. It's just we get loads of them in the house / bathrooms and I am just scared of any one being stung. Try visualize inviting friends over for diner and wine and them remembering the time their kid got stung at our house?
