You'll also notice that P murinus is also shown as being distibuted in Southern Africa as well, hence it being illegal along with all our other local species......

As far as I am aware, only P.lapalala is officially from SA.
P.lugardi is Botswana northwards, although I have never found them in Bots before and P.murinus is Zimbabwe northwards (Although I have seen a report of one from Southern Bots)

Think those might be old reports/descriptions that have changed since. I know there were reports of P.murinus in Limpopo, but think those might have been misidentified I.nigrofulva.

Pterinochilus was made illegal because of P.junodi(And a few others that have since changed) being found in SA (Which was later changed to Augacephalus junodi)

Dunno, I'm no expert on the local species but I've always 'known' the P lugardi was from SA, I can't remember why I've always thought that. But the owner of that site is probably the leading authority on baboon spiders in the world and works closely with some of the top taxonomists as far as I know......

p.s. I just researched it better and in Richard Gallon's 2002 Pterinochilus revision he states:

Distribution: Distributed across the northern part of Southern Africa (the map shows from sort of north of Gauteng) with additional records from east africa, occurs in Botswana, Namibia, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Altitudinal range between sea level and 1450m.

Best would be to probably stick to info provided by South African guys with experience in SA.
Anyone have Patrick's book on hand to see if there are any Pterinochilus species listed in there from SA other than P.lapalala?

Managed to finally open the document and they have P.murinus and P.lugardi from the same spot in Limpopo (Which I am assuming is Tsipise as that is where we went trying to find them and that is where the locality was). The only spiders that have been found there recently are I.nigrofulva (Which could easily be confused with a Pterinochilus species, since I.nigrofulva was originally in Pterinochilus)

No.
He didn't do all the collecting himself that is mentioned in those distribution maps, so he is basing those maps on previous finds I recon.
