A more positive topic.
I know that neither of our gold medal swimmers will ever read this post, but...
WELL DONE!!!! :drunk: :drunk: :drunk:

Watched the race last night with Chad and was jumping up and down with the final 100m.
What a great feeling when he won and when they were playing our national anthem.
Big  to Cameron too. :)

Is the Olympics on already ???

Then to top it all off, I trust we will go to Numero Uno after whipping the Poms at Cricket (the game THEY invented) too... They seem to be good at thinking up all sorts of fun and games, then the rest of the world show them how it SHOULD be done !!

Anyway, back to the Olympics. Seriously, has it started yet ???

On that topic, what I fail to understand is how the Americans can have 8 American teams playing Baseball or Grid Iron or whatever the hell they do over there, then call it a World Series... How big is THEIR world then?

What were we talking about... ?

You know a fair amount of Americans see maps as America in the centre, and arrows pointing outward to "Here be dragons" ;)

On topic: Whoop for gold medals!

Yeah, will be hoping for a 2-0 lead in the test series. :)

The "World series" was apparently named because the sponsor of the tournament was "The World Newspaper".
Needed the sponsors name on the name of the series, so thats how it became that. :)
Although the Americans do think they are the centre of the universe.

As for the race last night, the most annoying thing (Other than SABC claiming to be the official broadcaster and then losing transmission for the 2nd and 3rd lap of the race) was the stupid commentators. All they could talk about was Phelps (Although he did break a record too), but thought the winner of the race should get the most praise, not comments like Phelps deserved it.
Oh well, Phelps got le Clos, but no cigar. :)

I am astonished, I never knew that...

But then again, "what I don't know can fill a warehouse"... Bart
