@ Huzi, the brick format products are "palm peat", not a spagnum moss at all.

You can buy a 5 litre brick at any Pick n Pay hyper in the Gardening section, should be about R30.00, I buy and mix with a bit of vermiculite. The brick is about the size and shape of a house building one but expands to 5 litres in water, thats actually rather a lot...

The problem with Spagnum moss per se is it tends to be a bit acidic, while palm peat is pH neutral.

@Panama ,thanks if I ever go to lifestyle I will buy some .when the moss is soaked for 24 hours does it expand ?

@Inyanga , I am familiar with the palm peat bricks , I thought they made the same with the sphagnum moss ..I wanted to mix the moss with the palm peat to give it a natural look and the moss holds humidity well

Just WATCH OUT for sphagnum moss as they may contain pesticides that can harm if not kill ur tarantulas/gecko, etc

ALWAYS SOAK it with a few changes of the water to was off the harmfulls properly
