Very Legal. It's exotic so unless there's a local species of Vinegaroon and Overseas species are highly Hybridisible (yes yes, not a word) then it's totally fine. Getting them however could be a issue, as most overseas dealers will only send to SA if you purchase a large amount to cover their costs for permits and the actual shipping. Although, there are lots of guys who would gladly swap anything for local Thick Tailed scorpions

Might be one or two around, but the only real way to get them is importing. There are lots of Captive Bred Species around, and unlike tarantulas, they can be imported
