Let us debate issues at hand, and PLEASE do not continue with what South Africa needs. It is up to local breeders to try their utmost to supply whatever demand there is. For the rest, may the debate continue...

It will not be possible to import anything. A couple of people have tried to get permits, but authorities banned ANY and ALL imports and exports. They've got some serious scanners at the airports anyway. Please don't even try to risk everything you got, just over a couple of slings.

There is enough T's here, and prices are good.

There are alot of breeding projects on the go at the moment, but there could be even more. As said in previous threads, actions of others have had a very big negative impact on the local hobby. I have had to buy males for my females as people have lost their trust in others with good reason. This will not stop the hobby, but will ensure that the growth of it is extremely slow. This is also due to the number of active & experienced breeders we have. I am very pleased to see so many local breeding projects on the go from some of the members here.

It will still take us a couple more years, but hopefully not in the too distant future, we could end up having almost any T we want, locally bred. This will also help to eliminate most of the illegal imports as the T prices here are not too much more than buying overseas.
