WELL, I had a very sad experience when I went to my home town (Amanzimtoti) pet shop (Petz Afrika).


I went and looked at there tarantulas and I was disgusted at what I saw:

Firstly, all the tarantulas had over grown hissing cockroaches that looked about a week dead. BUT they were also feeding the slings these HUGE roaches.

Secondly, all the tarantulas had water gel BUT it was already going yellow...

Thirdly, ALL the tanks where bone dry... One of the tarantulas just molted - how it made it out without losing a leg is surprising. :ohmy:

Two of the tarantulas I was told were B.Vagans - but clearly the one was a G.Pulchripes (Just molted).

I advised the lady on what to do - if she took my advice I don't know.

I just hope that the next time I go they will be in better conditions.

This is really sad. I don't know why they would not want to take proper care of what they are trying to sell to people. Dead t's = very bad for business.

I was so disgusted when I saw what they were doing too those poor little tarantulas... I wish I could have bought them all but hell they soooooo over priced!!!!
