Hey guys

Has anyone ever kept these? Got some eggs from a friend of mine and they look super cool! :silly:

Anyhow, he sells off excess eggs, 072 350 2577, and apparently has large amounts avialable.

Yeah, I kept a bunch of these last year. Bought the eggs three years ago and only hatched early last year. They are interesting to keep and feed almost exclusively on Eucalyptus/Bluegum/Blougom which makes it super easy for me to feed them as someone decided to plant hundreds of Eucalyptus trees here decades ago.

Nope. The males all matured months before the female and by the time the female matured, the males were all dead, then the female died of old age six months later :| I think if the eggs come from a female who laid them parthenogenetically, then they take mcuh longer.

These are all parthenogenic female eggs. I believe they hatch in 3-4 months if sexually reproduced, 9 months plus if parthenogenically. Will probably try and find a male one day, if they're as cool as they seem to be! :P
