what scorpion is this? was created by rohan
Hi can someone please Id this scorpion and are you allowed to keep them. I found it while looking for rocks for my Ts thank you.

Where are you locked?

It is a Uroplectes sp
Might be a U. triangulifir
It is legal to keep them.

It is the scorpions with the thick pincers you may not keep.

The location does help with the process of identifying.
Uroplectus sp is not very big, but they are wide spread and common species over SA.

Just an example how common they are. Where I live, behind the one niebours house, is a rocky patch of ground.
I have found up to 15 Uroplectus living in a 1sqm block, and the rocky patch is about 5sqm.
