Howzit all .

My son found this in the garden, and about all I know is that 6 legs = insect ...... lol

It looked dead, I though it was an exoskeleton of somethng at first, but while I sat uploading the pics it gave a shake, and sat up and was very much alive !! As soon as you pick it up though, it plays dead with legs just hanging...

Any ideas ?

It is in fact a Weevil. Known for getting quite large and being almost indestructible. Years back I found one while camping, Big Black one, and nothing could damage the thing (I was still young, very yound and stupid) and not even stomping on it could damage it. All that was damaged was my Ego, Pride and a really sore foot
