Why male ? Because of the pale colour? or the patterns? Still struggling with sexing the pokies, would love to know what to "look" for to have an educated guess at mine!

For ornata, I use the carapace colouration.
The abdomen striping is easy to sex when the spider gets to 12cm +, but for spiders that size, I use the "look" of the carapace.
Its far from scientific or full proof, but with some experience it becomes easier.
It is also easier when you see the spider in person, as camera flashes can throw it off a bit.
