Can the two of you give a run down of plants you are useing ..

How do you actually care for live plants in a tank? Anyone got a link or personal experience?

I just water them when I fill up the T's water and remove dead leaves when i see em. You can also try those little compost sticks that can be placed beneath the plants roots for extra care. I haven't done this tho but some of my friends uses it without problems.

Thank you guys! My plants include the afore mentioned Leopard Orchids, Clivias, Dwarf elephant ears, small cacti (which don't have thorns that may pose a threat to the T's), Aloes, succulents, shoots of Mother inlaw's tongue, and a few species of hardy groundcover.

The key when choosing plants for your cages is to select ones that will survive in low-nutrient soils and in the shade... most plants need exposure to some light but most of my choices don't require direct sunlight. Small "indoor plants" work very well. Always remember to wash plants thoroughly before including them in a setup as they may introduce parasites.

I use the same plants as bushpilot and mainly find them in gardens.
