I have also invested in a pair surgical gloves.

Water is also your best friend in an instint like that run the infected area under cold water.

@ Stanley - Thank you for the concern and advice. Had it checked out. No hairs on the eyeball just on the edge and out side of bottom eye lid. And yes it still burns like hell this morning.

Wew! My greatest concern was that a few of the bristles would still be loose and eventually find themselves piercing the eyeball. When they get into either the vitreous humor (transparent jellylike substance filling the eyeball behind the lens) or the aqueous humor (clear fluid between the lens and the cornea) they wreak all sorts of havoc, one of the worst being that your body tends to build up some sort of material (scar tissue?) around each bristle. Those globs then float around in your eye, and you will see dark shapes obscuring your vision for the rest of your life.

My eye started to itch just reading this!

I should actually have taken a pic. It looks much better now but it still burns and itches alot. But I'm either getting used to it or it is slowly but surely getting better. I just hope it it goes away long before Christmas...
