Competition closed winners announced.

The handling of ANY Tarantula MUST ALWAYS be done with the greatest of care and respect towards the animal.

It is not advocated as the norm, nor does this forum support or encourage the unnecessary handling of ANY Tarantula. Although not stated in the FORUM RULES , this forum does not encourage or recommend this practice.

Taki will post his recommendations and some guidelines on the practice of handling tarantulas shortly....

Most people are like clouds. The sun comes out when they f*ck off...

Congrats Cascade ( I think  ) and thanks for the prizes Angel, very kind of you. Cascades plight highlights the risk of handling a tarantula, especially the species known to posses more potent venoms.
As I have said before, my view (and therefoe the forum's view) is that I feel if you really want to handle any of your tarantulas it has to be done CORRECTLY and RESPONSIBLY (look out for the forum's updated rules shortly and I will making a handling Do's and Dont's sticky thread as well).
For anyone that's an adult I would not try to tell you what to do with your own tarantulas, just know that there are risks invloved for both you and I feel more so for your tarantula when you handle them.
Kids and young adults, NEVER, EVER handle a tarantula that is known to posses a strong venom (Poecilotheria's, Stromatopelma's, Pterinchilus, Heteroscudera, among others).!

You can take an Aphonopelma to crickets but you can't make it eat!
