Hey guys! I'm a noob so please... Be patient and nice... is this brick better than peat? Does it lock in the moisture? I mean for the humidity? And most importantly, do the T's like it?

There are a few types of peat. The compressed brick is coconut fibre diced up. They are most often sold in 5 kg and these smaller 400 -600 gram sizes. If you buy wholesale you can buy the 5kg brick for R20. The smaller brick can be picked up for R8 at places like the farmer's market or farmer's Co-op.

It is the most commonly used substrate for tarantulas and the loose form in petshops is simply a repackaged brick.

Ok, would it be wise to keep this brick wet stuff at the bottom and then normal peat on top? Coz I want a nice humidity, and the less we stress our big girls, the better! So I want to have to mist less! This would be awsum if it works!!!!
