So Taki, Ayal and myself went to the school this morning and did a small talk and show on tarantulas to about 150-200 kids.

We covered most topics including:

Difference between True Spiders and Tarantulas
Different Species of tarantula
Old world vs New World
Urticating hairs vs Threat Pose
What molting is and showed some older molts (Kids Freaked out)
Explained the body parts thanks to the help of our huge P metallica banner
What tarantulas eat and how they eat
Showed off some live tarantulas ( Chromatopelma cyaneopubescens (Green Bottle Blue) , Brachypelma smithi (Mexican Red Knee) , Grammostola rosea (Chilean Rose) , Stromatopelma calceatum (Featherleg Baboon)
And finished off with taking pics of each child with the Brachypelma smithi (Mexican Red Knee)

I will be giving the older kids classrooms a Brachypelma albopilosum (Curlyhair) pet for them to look after as well as calendars which they already have now and put up. Gave every single kid a tarantulas.co.za sticker so you never know maybe one of them actually wants to start the hobby
