T's in Port Elizabeth/Eastern Cape Legalities? was created by Matt
Hi,

I've been doing a lot of reading about tarantulas(from here on out T's). Today I finally popped into to our local shop, and was told it is illegal to keep them, but I cannot find any supporting information! I did a forum search but couldn't find any other threads similar to this and a google search didn't yield much!

Is it legal or illegal to keep T's in the EC/Port Elizabeth area? Does anyone know of any places I can actually go to, commercial or private sellers to go view/chat etc!

As far as I know, Ts are only illegal in the Western Cape and not the Eastern Cape :)

I was under the exact same impression, that's why when I walked into the shop I was a bit dumbstruck..... Couldn't find anything online, hope some guys from EC can comment a bit!

Perhaps you could try give one of these guys a mail / call?

I'm sure they'd put you on the right track.
