Hi all,
Lately I've noticed something a bit strange, if I work with feeder insects specifically mealworms and crickets I break out into fits of uncontrollable sneezing... after handling feeders too if I rub my nose or eyes, my eyes become dry and my nose runs. I had thought that it might be a build up of ammonia spores but my feeder setups are clean and well-ventilated. An antihisthamine tablet usually sorts me out but it seems a tad unconventional compared to the usual pollen, dog and cat allergies. Does anyone else experience anything like this?

its fine dust that you are having a reaction to and causing you to sneeze. Try wearing a dust mask when handeling.

I'm terribly allergic to my hisser and dubia roaches, but to none of the other feeders I keep. I get fits of asthma, runny eyes and nose... not funny! So whenever I get even close to my feeders, I wear a double bandana across my face, which helps almost 100% :)

My feeders are also clean and dry, so I don't think it's from fungus spores.

Thanks for the replies guys. Will give the bandana and dust mask a try... though with the latter I'll feel a bit like an American on one of those DIY shows lol.
