Hey guys and gals
I am just wondering what would be the best over all substrate for T's.
I had guys telling me to use just peat moss and I have also been told that I should mix spaghnus and peat moss. Im just curious as to which will be the best over all? Just peat, just spagnus or a combination of the two and if a combo of the 2 what would the right mixture be? 50/50 or more peat or more spagnus or only 1 type? And then of course there is the vermiculite
Lots of T keepers use different things but I personaly buy bricks of coco-peat from my local garden center and then add the required amount of water, that's it. I find that it has the appropriate particle spacing; it is very important when setting up an enclosure to watch that the substrate you are using has reasonably good airflow... there is nothing better for bacteria than warm, damp and stagnant soil - and this will obviously have negative repercussions for your spiders. I think pretty much any of the substrates you mentioned will work so long as it retains moisture and has good airflow.
Hope this helps.

The early bird gets the worm... but the early worm gets eaten by a bird.
Jes I also use palm peat but just ,make sure its the ones with out the vertelizer in as my garden center sell the non toxic and 100% natural 1 kg brick and the vertelizer 1 kg brick.
