Incredible! I knew L. parahybana were formidable but this is astonishing. Hope it wasn't a setup, but still an interesting video.

Wow. That was a bit uncalled for pierre. I think you need to firstly calm down a bit. Dont want you to die from a heart attack before you hit 40. Secondly, dont take things so personally. How was i suppose to know your dad made that video???
Ok, how do you know the video is real? Because its on youtube? Great trustworthy source you have there. :)
Enough of you for now. :)
To pierre's dad (or whoever made this video). Im really sorry for assuming it was a setup. Luckily pierre showed me in the right direction before things got ugly. All i can say is, i hope you bought a lotto ticket the day you shot that video (in that case you will probably be on some tropical island sipping cocktails and will never get to see my apology.)
You were really lucky just following that snake through the bush when it happened to stumble across a big tarantula sitting out in the open (obviously left its burrow for a breath of fresh air) and happened to catch it all (from different angles) in a life and death struggle. Trust me, things like this dont happen too often, so you were really lucky that you had a whole film crew there waiting for the action to happen. Must have been a good few months spent in the jungle, but it was worth it in the end i think you would agree.

Notice to all: Keep it civil!

I've seen some obvious setups on youtube myself. Common sense is a factor here too.

What annoys me most is, that one the other videos linked to the topic, you clearly see the sweins place the scorpion, centipede and/or tarantula into the same enclosure, and instigating the confrontation. That to me, is wrong. Yes, they're all predators. If you want to keep animals, especially apex predators do so with responsibility.

Where is the humanity in keeping them and raising them only to put them together to fight? In a lot of cases these animals might never encounter each other in the wild.

Where they do encounter each other in the wild, and someone happens to witness and photograph, or capture on video I say good work.
